Art Shows Give Artists a Place to Showcase Their Creations
As an art school student, you’ve spent countless hours laboring over every detail of each of your pieces. Once all of that hard work is finished, it’s important to show it off a little – after all, you’ve earned it!
Art shows and festivals provide you with an opportunity to share your work with the public, which can open the door to many future opportunities.
As an artist showing your work at an art festival, you will be surrounded with your peers, giving you the opportunity to network with other accomplished creatives. You will have the opportunity to make a name for yourself, while gaining inspiration from other artists at the same time.
Many art shows allow artists to sell their work, which also gives you the opportunity to earn money by doing something that you’re passionate about.
One such event, Denver, Colorado’s Cherry Creek Arts Festival, is an exhibition of talented artists specializing in a number of categories including ceramics, digital art, drawing, fiber, glass, graphics and printmaking, jewelry, metalworks, mixed media, painting, photography, sculpture, and wood.
Held annually over Fourth of July weekend, this art show draws crowds of up to 350,000 people.
Another type of art show, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania’s Art All Night gives local artists the chance to display a single work of art, without any requirements, rules, or fees. Artists are given the option of putting their piece up for sale or simply using the show as a way to gain exposure.
Regardless of your area of expertise, you have talent and you should show it off. You spend too much time perfecting your work to keep it to yourself! Participate in an art show and let the world see how talented you really are.
