Using Your Skills to Volunteer and Give Back

Art schools have volunteer opportunities for everyone, no matter your skill level.

Whether you’re organizing food drives, mentoring a child, or painting apartments for a homeless shelter, art school students can contribute to their communities year-round.

As you advance in your studies, you can find additional opportunities to volunteer that are specific to your major. Students may use their skills in the kitchen to bake a cake for charity. Others do pro-bono design work, like creating logos and building websites for places of worship or grassroots organizations.

By volunteering your time and services you can enhance your skills, while giving back to others in need.

Students at The Art Institutes have worked with Big Brothers Big Sisters, The Salvation Army, and other national non-profits. For more information on volunteer opportunities, contact an art school student affairs office.
